چکیده
Lagrangian particle-based smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) is increasingly widely used in landslide modelling. This paper investigates four important issues not addressed by previous studies on SPH modelling of large-scale landslides, i.e., convergence property, influence constitutive parameters, scale effect and friction reduction, different treatments the viscous effect. The GPU-acceleration technique employed to achieve high-resolution three-dimensional (3D) Baige investigated comparing numerical results with field data, detailed analyses are provided. Suggestions resolution, parameter, formulations discretization also presented for future landslides.

Three-dimensional Sph Simulations of Accretion Discs *
We discuss some 3D numerical simulations of accretion discs using the SPH method and a polytropic equation of state. We show that discs exist even for as large value of the polytropic index as 1.2, and that these discs are always in hydrostatic balance. We also show that even without any inflow, spiral shocks appear in the discs.
متن کاملSimulating three-dimensional turbulence with SPH
In this paper, we have investigated the ability of smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) to simulate turbulent flows. It is well known that the standard method without corrections cannot predict the energy cascade of a turbulent flow. In the absence of viscosity, standard SPH simulations produce purely noisy particle motion and at finite viscosities the method overpredicts dissipation. As a rem...
متن کاملLarge-Scale Three-Dimensional Acoustic Horn Optimization
Abstract. We consider techniques that enable large-scale gradient-based shape optimization of wave-guiding devices in the context of 3D time-domain simulations. The approach relies on a memory efficient boundary representation of the shape gradient together with primal and adjoint solvers semi-automatically generated by the FEniCS framework. The hyperbolic character of the governing linear wave...
متن کاملSeismic Triggering Mechanisms of Large–scale Landslides, Valles Marineris
Large–scale landslides in Valles Marineris wallrock are analyzed in order to determine what triggering mechanisms caused the landslides. These landslides occur in the locality of large faults, and therefore it is hypothesized that the landslides are the result of marsquakes triggering slope instability. This work confirms that landslides occur where the seismic hazard map forecasts highest seis...
متن کاملLarge-Scale Molecular Dynamics Simulations of Three-Dimensional Ductile Fracture
We have performed massively parallel 3D molecular dynamics simulations with up to 35 million atoms to investigate ductile fracture. We have obtained mechanistic information at the atomistic level inaccessible to experiment. We observe dislocation loops emitted from the crack front|the rst time this has been seen in computer simulations. The sequence of dislocation emission (crack blunting proce...
